Unique celebrations deserve more love

More people should be empowered to celebrate in ways that make them excited and showcase their personalities. I’m here to support and encourage you to push against the status quo. Regardless of who you are or where you are; you deserve a photographer who is excited to be there with you and celebrate with you in ways that affirm who you are!

New Jersey and Philly based wedding photographer dedicated to curating stories and artwork out of your moments; whether that is celebrating a proposal, engagement, wedding, yourself, or your entire family.

“…putting his 10/10 customer service aside, his pictures are breathtaking. Looking at his portfolio I knew something great was coming but when I never expected the stunning shots we got back. They were so creative but also so “us.” I loved all of them and truly can’t pick a favorite.” — Kaili

Rylan (they/he) - New Jersey and Philly LGBTQ+ Photographer

I am an openly queer and trans wedding photographer in the Greater Philadelphia area who takes pride in transparency and challenging industry norms. You can also find me falling into information rabbit holes of my latest hyper-fixation subject, and approaching things with a slight sense of humor.

When wedding planning with my wife, it often felt like we needed to ask permission to be fully seen as ourselves. People were accepting of us but we didn’t always feel fully invited in; there were countless times we needed to re-work paperwork and plans to fit our relationship structure, and I knew that there had to be a better way. While no one was homophobic towards us, a lot of the “standard” parts of the process felt pretty clunky; but we just thought that was a part of the process as a lesbian couple in 2019.

Now I get to be that accepting and affirming wedding vendor for others.  While I can’t promise to be perfect, I can promise I will do everything I can to make your wedding planning experience feel supported, affirming and authentic. I’ve forged a network of other affirming vendors in the industry, and am always happy to share their information with you as well to help create your best experience!

My goal is for you to feel seen and celebrated, like I’m a friend at your wedding. As a more photojournalistic New Jersey wedding photographer I focus on creating artwork and portraits from the real moments of your day, allowing you and your loved ones to celebrate how you want.

ALL partners are celebrated equally! No one person is more important and it is not just “the bride’s day”.

Details get the attention they deserve and will be beautifully documented.

Expert lighting in any situation or venue.

We can make magic wherever we are!

Team work makes the dream work. I have a network of queer owned and queer affirming vendors I can recommend for your dream team.

This is:

  • Wedding photography that never asks you to fit in

  • Wedding photography that adapts to your day

  • A celebratory and affirming experience that centers the queer and trans communities

“Rylan was everything we wanted in a wedding photographer and more! When we were planning our wedding, it was important to us that we found a photographer who could capture our fun and unique style. We were also always on the lookout for photographers who not only had same sex couples in their portfolio, but were happy and excited to photograph same sex weddings…He was kind and professional, and the photos are FANTASTIC…I can’t say enough good things about him and the experience we had working with him. If you have the chance to book Rylan for your event, please do. You won’t regret it.” -Ed
